  3. The funniest thing about this is that despite Neiswonger’s best efforts at a little comic relief, we find that we just can’t pass up the chance to take a shot at the other side – especially those one-eyed, tradition-bound Presbyterians.

  4. Biblically, there is no argument for infant baptism. Infants aren’t supposed to be baptized in the first place, that’s a man made teaching.

    In Mark 1;15, Jesus says, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel”, and in Mark 16;16, He says, “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved…”, and John 7;38 and 39, “He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. 39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)”.

    The plan of salvation is all summed up in Acts 2;38,
    “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”

    So we must believe the gospel and repent of our sins first before we can be baptized.
    So infants aren’t able to be baptized because they must hear the gospel first, and then they must believe the gospel and repent of their sins. But infants aren’t capabke of any of these, and haven’t sinned, so they are not accountable to God fir anything.

    And when we are baptized, we are immersed in water, not sprinkled with water or having water poured on us. Because that’s what the word “baptize” means. The word “baptize” is from the Greek word “baptizo”, which means to “dip, plunge, immerse”. So when we say ” baptize”, we literally are saying “immerse”. So when someone is saying “I baptize you… ” while sprinkling or pouring water, then they saying one thing while doing the opposite of what they’re saying. They’re literally saying they are immersing you, while at the same time they are sprinkling you or pouring water on you.

    Another thing is that baptism according to the Bible is in the name of Jesus Christ, not in the titles of “Father”, “Son”, and “Holy Spirit”.

    In the oroginal scripture of Matthew 28;19, Jesus said to baptize “in my name”, meaning the name of Jesus. That’s why in Luke 24;47, Jesus said that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name among all nations. Remission of sins is given in baptism. Jesus was saying that repentance and baptism for the remission of sins should be preached in His name among all nations, that is, in the name of Jesus. And that’s why Peter said “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”

    The New Testament plan of salvation by the blood and death of Jesus Christ on the cross, and by His burial, and resurrection, was put into effect on the day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit was first poured out, and the church was born. And every one the apostles baptized were all by immersion in water in the name of Jesus.

  6. First of all, we are saved by faith. We must hear the word, believe it, and make a choice to give our lives to the Lord to be saved. Babies are not able to do that. When we make that choice, we turn to God in repentance, confessing Him as Lord and Savior, and confessing our sins to Him, asking Him to forgive us and save us. Then we can be baptized. Repentance must come first before we can be baptized.

    And the word “baptize” means to ” dip, plunge, or immerse”. Sprinkling or pouring of water is not baptism.

The actul act of baptism is merely symbolic. A public profession of faith. It is the state of one’s heart that matters to God. Baptism has to be a personal choice from the heart to mean anything. It is otherwise pointless. Infants cannot yet make that choice, so there is no meaning to the act of infant baptism. It’s as simple as that.

    May the Peace and Grace of our Lord be with you and all who are entrusted to you. Why was there a need for John the Baptist to baptize in water, if he knows that our Lord Jesus will baptize with the Holy Spirit? Is man saved by his repentance or is he saved by the Grace of God (our Lord Jesus Christ’s death on the cross for our sins)? When an infant/child is baptized in water,does he need to be repentant of his/her sin? Is the infant sinless? If the infant is sinless then he/she is full of grace like our Lord, but because he was brought into the world by man, he/she shares with the original sin brought about by the fall from the grace of God by our first parents Adam and Eve. This is why, infant baptism is a good thing because, though the infant has no sin to repent from, he is already forgiven from the original sin, because he was baptized in the name of the Father, of the Son and the Holy Spirit.

  12. where is the scripture for infant baptism among Jew or gentile Abraham covenant is there among Jew by circumcise,but there is no infant baptism,even Jesus got baptism after 30 years,infant how they can repent from sin they don’t know what is which and which is what, baptism symbolic of death and resurrection.of Jesus Christ that’s what bible says repent get baptism you will saved. Through Adam and eve not sin through their sin curse is coming behind us because of their disobedient to the word of GOD. we were boned in to the cursed of earth,GOD didn’t curse ADAM AND EVE. INFANT BAPTISM IS NOT SCRIPTURAL .

  13. There are two baptisms in the Bible, one is the Baptism of water and the other is the Baptism of Fire (Baptism of the Holy Spirit). When an infant is baptized, the original sin from our first parents, Adam and Eve are forgiven. The child, is now in Grace, this is very GOOD. As the child grows up and is exposed to worldly/earthly deceptions/vanity, he again acquires sin, when He accepts our Lord Jesus Christ in Faith, He will receive the Holy Spirit and he will become the Temple of our Lord’s Spirit, He will be Holy Ground, he should not therefore make His temple dirty/unclean. He must read the Bible, acknowledge that we are our brothers keeper, we are given the grace to know our brothers and sisters, share our life with them, our help (physical, financial for all those who needs it), we become stewards of God’s Grace and most importantly share our Faith and help our brothers and sisters who have not yet accepted the Salvation of our Lord! The ONLY Mesiah of man for the forgiveness of Sins!

    May the Grace of our Lord be with you through the Holy Spirit in the hearts of all who believes in our Lord Jesus Christ !
