The great thing about Obama is that he lives up to the hype.

The great thing about Obama is that he lives up to the hype. He got us out of Iraq, won the war and rebuilt Afghanistan, closed down Guantanemo, built a wonderful new relationship with Iran through diplomacy, brought peace to the middle east, secured our good relations with Russia and China, recycled the environment and ended world hunger.

  8. Sophocles had a lot to say about the last few presidencies. Bush II Candidate wanted a humbler foreign policy—which he abruptly jetissoned. They must put something in the Washington water that encourages the form of madness that is hubris.

  13. Isn’t it enough that he _wants_ to do all that, Chris? His heart’s in the right place, isn’t it? It’s up to us to form secret societies of the inquisitorial variety, later to be deputized as privateers, to clear the impediments to this grand vision of society built on the principle of LOVE!

  17. Maybe a little eastern wisdom will help us understand:

    “The Master’s power is like this.
    He lets all things come and go
    effortlessly, without desire.
    He never expects results;
    thus he is never disappointed.
    He is never disappointed;
    thus his spirit never grows old.”

    ~Tao Te Ching, 55

  21. You guys need to get on the bandwagon here. Things have never been better. Especially since Starbucks now has instant coffee. It’s a brave new world. Sure Acorn is a little problematic and we just canceled a long standing treaty requirment with a NATO ally in Europe without notice to either NATO or the national parties involved placing them in both physical and political jeopardy but every one will remember that America keeps her promises in regard to our friends that we like better.

  22. Starbucks has instant coffee? Brilliant! Maybe they should be handling our international policies.

  23. A little comment back at comment no. 8 by “D”- one might remember that Bush had to jettison his “humbler” foreign policy when our country was attacked shortly after he took office. I doubt he was really looking forward to having to deal with a terrorist attack that left 3000 Americans dead.

    Back to the main post, I do wish Obama had been in office for 9/11. I am sure he could have gotten on the phone with the terrorists and read a rousing speech from a teleprompter convincing them to safely land their planes, not hurt anyone, and support his government takeover err overhaul of healthcare.

  25. I believe it is written “…..blessed are the peacemakers”
    I think all of you could benefit from reading the Bible a little more rather than spout vituperate rhetoric.

    • Learn from your own imposed ethic Bob. You make peace by making war and spout rhetoric about spouting rhetoric. What’s more vituperate than that?
