People keep writing to ask me what I’ve been doing because I haven’t blogged in a while now. On the one hand, it’s good that people notice. On the other hand… no, that’s about it.
So to answer some questions:
1. “Heroes” rocks. Still, it has become a bit of a soap opera with people that can blow up in it. It was more of a serial. That like, “tune in next week to find out if Captain Danger escapes from the evil plot of Professor Nogginmuncher!” kind of thing. (No Dennis I am not old enough to have seen serials in the movie theaters.) I did though see “Chico and the Man” and “Happy Days” when they were new on T.V. The “Mork and Mindy” generation will never understand us. Remember “Voltron”? I loved Voltron. That guy had this little button and when he pressed it he became a huge guy in a silver and red space suit that could shoot cosmic rays out of his elbows or something like that. Same exact show every week. Always great. Turns out, lots of giant monsters in Japan. Too many if you ask me.
2. No I am not on drugs. Your concern is touching.
3. Me and Christopher had some fun at the big Azusa fire today. Two things he loves. Fire trucks and helicopters. What two things were at the Azusa fire? Guess…
4. Yeah, I spoke at Communion Presbyterian in Irvine a couple weeks ago. www.communionpres.org . No, I sucked. Sometimes you’re on it and sometimes you’re just not. I went in to this thing at the end about postmodernism and neo-orthodoxy. The historical relationship. Everybody was looking at me like I was speaking in tongues (Presbyterians speak in tongues as long as all of them are English.) Hey what works in the class room does not work in the pulpit. Serves me right for not being more sensitive to the audience.
5. I watched Gattaca again the other day. Still one of the best movies ever on the possibilities and dangers of post-christian bioethical practice. YOU MUST WATCH GATTACA. And hey, you know I don’t type in all caps for just any reason.
6. My brother Joshua is in a rock band.
7. His girlfriend is named Sarah. I’ve know her since she was just a little tot. Him too.

8. I’ve been thinking of changing my icon from this…
To this…
Even though the Angus-Augustine relationship mirroring that of the Biblical Theology-Dogmatic Theology debate has been under researched in the serious theological journals there is obvious merit in the transitional forms.
9. No, I did not make up the saying stop punishing yourself let me do it for you. It just seemed to fit that one time.
10. Yeah, law is kind of my thing. I’ve been writing a lot on it lately for a lot of different reasons. I’ll blog it out here soon enough. Recovering a historically orthodox Christian understanding of ethics and law are really important to me. Everybody these days seems to be either antinomians or legalists. Very little room in the mix for the tried and true ways that past generations have reconciled these things. I’ll post something soon. No, really. ?
