Can You Lose Your Salvation? – mp3 download *Updated 6/29/08

Here is an MP3 download of two sermons I preached recently on the topic of eternal security and perseverance of the saints.

Kept by the Power of God

Part 1 makes a case from Scripture for the doctrine of the perseverance of the saints.

Part 2 looks at arguments and scriptures used to argue that you can lose your salvation.

Both parts are included in the download.

God Bless,

Doug

  1. Can you lose your salvation ? = NO NO NO NO NO NO ect.

    The Blood of Jesus

The Bible speaks of us as a chosen generation and a royal priesthood, and has made us kings and priests unto God. When we approach the throne of God, we must offer the blood of Jesus as it is written in the book of Hebrews 10 v 19, “Having therefore, brethren boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus”.
We must cover our prayers and His promises and our families with the blood of Jesus by speaking out loud. When the children of Israel collected manna, it was good for that day only. The blood of Jesus must be offered to God every new day, as the duty of the New Testament Priests, which we are. No evil power will be able to hinder your prayers to God when you plead the blood before the throne of Almighty God.

Moses, who belonged to the Old Testament Priesthood would sprinkle the blood over the Word of God and over the people of God. We sprinkle the blood of Jesus by speaking the blood of Jesus over God’s promises and our bodies and our families. So keep under the blood. The blood protects you only if you are under it’s awesome power. The children of Israel were safe while they stayed in their houses, where the blood was applied to the doorposts and lintels. If they came out the angel of death would have destroyed them. So, keep close to Jesus and let your testimony be today, and every day, “The Blood, the Blood of Jesus sets me free, protecting me and my family”. “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto death”. {Revelation 12 v 11}.

  2. I am so confused here.

Those that Believe we Can (Not) Lose our Salvation,,, why all worries and fears over 10′s of Millions of *Back-Sliders* around the world??
They’re still Heaven bound, right? So why all the worries they’ll miss the Rapture?? Think about it.
GOD Don’t have a gigantic eraser up in Heaven.

“Oh No. John Doe has just Back-Slidden from ME. Let ME erase John Doe off of MY ‘BOOK-Of-LIFE” here.”

No, No, No. JESUS is Not, Not going to get back on that CROSS all over again to Die all over again for Back-Sliders, if you say Once Saved Back-Sliders are Hell bound. No
    Well…. Can I get a witness, somebody? : – )

    • I think most of us are concerned about ‘backsliders’ because we are afraid they never really new God in the first place… I mean someone who says they are a Christian and yet produce no fruits of the spirit or show the love of Christ in the first place. That is why I’m worried.. I’m not saying I don’t sin(because I do). But like Matthew 7 says ” Many people will proclaim, LORD, LORD but not all will enter the kingdom of Heaven” And I believe we are saved throught faith alone.. but like I said earlier if we have faith we will have good works as explained in James 2.. Therefore if we see no works we think people may possibly may not have faith.. So in turn are worried!

      Adios,
      Victor :D

  7. Please understand that that is is possible to “lose” your salvation IF you have PROFANED the truth of the Word entrusted to you by the Lord. The term “lose your salvation” is somewhat misleading though. In any case here are bible scriptures that show that this is possible:
2Pe 2:22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.
Mat 12:44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.
Mat 12:45 Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.
Mat 25:26 His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:
Mat 25:27 Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.
Mat 25:28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.
Mat 25:29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.
Mar 4:3 Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow:
Mar 4:4 And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up.
Mar 4:5 And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth:
Mar 4:6 But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.
Mar 4:7 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit.
Mar 4:8 And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred.
Mar 4:9 And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

These scriptures and others like it speak to the possibility that it is possible to squander the gift of God and thus to court damnation and lose salvation if the gifts of God which are collectively called and make salvation are abused and thrown as it were back in the face of God because of selfishness. Also consider Ananias and Sephira. It is possible to profane the holy things of God. This was illustrated by in the Word when fire came out of the holy place and consumed the sons of Aaron who brought “stange fire” (representing evil self centered desires) before God. “HE THAT ENDURETH TO THE END..” (REV.) refers to the possibility that it is possible to NOT endure and so lose the gift of God.

  8. The point where i was assured that my salvation was eternal … was when my preacher had a sermon similar to this and using Matthew 7:22-23 i believe it is…in v.23 it says Depart from me I NEVER know you….to me if we could lose our salvation…I believe it wouldn’t say NEVER, it would have to say well i USED to know you and don’t anymore…or something to that effect. To me grace is grace eternal and forever.
